For the large majority of 3D Printing projects, the printing process is relatively simple, requiring you to simply create a design and export it to your printer. However, there are times in which large or highly complex prints need extra support during the printing process – so that they don’t droop or sag whilst hot – which is precisely where our 0.5kg spools of 1.75mm Natural ESUN PVA offer a unique value.
This Plastic Filament is made to be soluble in water, capable of dissolving and disappearing within a few hours at most. This unique property makes PVA ideal for building struts and scaffolds to hold up other plastics while they dry, after which the PVA can be safely and easily removed without affecting the main print.
– Natural Brown
Suggested Print Settings:
– No Heat/(60-80)
– PEI/BuildTak/Blue Painters Tape
PVA plastic is most commonly used for building temporary struts and scaffolds in 3D Printing, allowing Makers to produce complex prints with thin structures and large overhangs. After the print is complete, it can then be left in hot water of up to 60°C to dissolve the struts without damaging or otherwise negatively affecting the main components of the print – resulting in far better quality prints with substantially less droop, sag or other similar problems.
