As big fans of Creality 3D, we love when new 3D Printers are introduced to the market, not only because we get awesome new models to stress-test, but also because new models often bring cool new features and upgrades. This has been quite prevalent for Creality’s Motherboard Range, with new iterations being developed each time a problem is identified or better technology is brought forward, and the recent release of the Creality Ender 3 V2 has included its own exciting new feature, which is the awesome Creality V4.2.7 Motherboard.

This very fancy but surprisingly cost-effective motherboard is 32bit, and offers a range of cool features that focus on user experience as well as cost reduction, allowing Creality to add even more features and improvements to their entry-level models, but without dramatically increasing the price like many would expect. In addition to being perfectly compatible with all of the 3D Printers that utilised the original Creality V1.1.x boards from the Ender Series, this board brings together some of the best features from previous versions, while also offering a range of cool improvements that make 3D Printing easier and more enjoyable, and allowing you to focus purely on getting the best print quality for your particular 3D Printer and setup.

With this in mind, some of the key features that we are really excited about, which we feel play the biggest parts in adding to the overall user experience and impressively low cost of this motherboard, include the following:

  • Integrated Silent Stepper Drivers: As more Makers are becoming accustomed to 3D Printing, and upgrades are getting more accessible and easier to actually install, it makes sense that Creality have chosen to make it easier for the end user and simply integrate Silent Stepper Drivers directly into the board. These drivers are based on the classic TMC2208 Drivers, and have been built into the PCB of the board as SMD components, with heatsinks placed directly on top of them and all of the pins broken out into dedicated lanes on the PCB. This means you can enjoy near-silent 3D Printing without ever even seeing your stepper drivers, while also enjoying the awesome features like Stall Detection, Quiet Operations and a longer operating lifespan that the TMC2208 are so well known for.

  • Powerful 32Bit CPU: As 3D Printing has been improving over the years, and more and more upgrades are being brought to the market for Makers, we’re starting to notice that 8bit boards are beginning to struggle. And while the components and mechanical aspects of 3D Printers are certainly becoming far more capable of much higher speeds, the 8bit boards are now becoming the weak link in the chain. Fortunately, recent developments have just introduced a lot of cool new 32bit boards, and the Creality V4.2.7 has also adopted this approach. And while you may not necessarily notice any major differences when using stock settings of your 3D Printer, the 32bit processor is ready to handle better firmware, more advanced upgrades, as well as high speeds with the right parts.

  • Minor Port & Power Improvements: Although this final feature of the Creality V4.2.7 Motherboard may not really knock your socks off, the constant improvements and iterations that Creality bring out are always warmly welcome. The improvements this time have focused on cleaning up the design with better port management and power delivery. This, in conjunction with the integrated stepper drivers, translates to an easier user experience, as well a longer lifespan due to easier access to important ports, as well as overall better thermal management throughout the board.

If you’ve been looking for a great upgrade for your 3D Printer to enhance your user experience, or have just been eager to give your classic Creality 3D Printer a nice overhaul for more power, more precision and better capabilities, the Creality V4.2.7 is a great choice that’s definitely well worth the money.

Creality V4.2.7 Motherboard

Creality V4.2.7 Motherboard

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.

The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.

If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
