E3D V6 3mm Heat Break
E3D V6 heat break used in the E3D V6 hot end for 3mm filaments.
This is a replacement heat break for the E3D V6 hotend for 3mm filament, and it is an all metal version with a PTFE sleeve inserted into the "cold" side of the heat break. The very low coefficient of friction of this PTFE tube's inner walls promotes smooth extrusion, lessens back pressure and reduces the chance of blockages. The "hot" side of heat break doesn't have PTFE tubing in it, and as such has a smaller diameter of 3.1mm that almost perfectly matches the diameter of the PTFE tubing in the "cold" side.
The V6 heat break is used to channel filament through the Cooling Tower and straight into the heated Nozzle. The top end of the heat break inside the cooling tower is designed to stay cold while the bottom end inside the heat block will heat up which in turn will aid in rapidly heating up your Filament to the desired temperature in preparation for extrusion through the nozzle.
Tip: You will need to heat up your hot end when removing and installing your heat break to avoid damaging it. This can be done by heating up the hotend while assembled or by using a heat gun which also works very well.
