If you’ve ever stood on a scale and wandered how the device measures weight, and furthermore how it accurately measures the same weight consistently no matter how many times you weigh yourself, then be sure to read on about this fantastic 150kg Load Cell Sensor, which is capable of measuring strain by carefully monitoring the internal resistance of bonded wires as they bend with the metal. This strain can then be identified as Newton force (or weight), resulting in a very accurate measurements for weighing all kinda of different things from large fish to bags of fertiliser.
These heavy-duty Load Cell Sensors are excellent choices if you need to weigh large objects or massive quantities of product, as they can measure up to 150kg with an impressively tight tolerance. As such, these are very commonly found in locations like commercial stores, where they can be used for easily measuring exact stock counts from their weight. Other common places in which these sensors are used include doctors’ offices and clinics for weighing people, construction sites for measuring precise quantities of materials, as well as in refinement plants where precise ratios of ingredients, chemicals and other compounds need to be measured in order to maintain a high level of quality for the end-product.
This load cell is designed to be used with our HX711 Load Cell Sensor Interface Module, and is often purchased alongside our IOT Devices for automated stocking systems.
Please Note: These 4-Wire Load Cells have been pre-calibrated during the manufacturing process. As such, it’s imperative that you never cut, shorten or otherwise modify the cables that are included, as this will affect the resistance of the sensor, resulting in inaccurate weight measurements.

With such a large capacity, these Load Cell Sensors are very suitable for commercial purposes, and while they can extend into light industrial loads, they may not be able to handle some of the extreme loads that are some industrial use cases would demand. However, this makes it more than just capable of handling almost any hobbyist application you could throw at it, from weighing light loads of washing before heading off to the drycleaners, all the way through to weighing massive fish on a trip down the coast.
Just remember though, that you do need to use load cells like these in conjunction with a load cell amplifier such as the HX711 Load Cell Interface Module that we stock. With these parts in hand, however, setup and installation is as easy as connecting the wires to the HX711 according to the table above, mounting the load cell onto a solid surface, and then mounting a weighing platform onto the other end. After that, you can route the measurements via a microcontroller, to a personal computer, or directly to an LCD display depending on your project, giving you precise weights up to 150kg for whatever you need to weigh.
