Nylon filament has firmly established itself as an outstanding choice for 3D printing, offering a wide range of benefits. It provides exceptional strength and durability akin to ABS. While there is a learning curve associated with this advanced 3D filament, the incredible results you can achieve make it well worth the effort. Enter Fillamentum Nylon CF15 Filament, a game-changer that takes the strength and durability of nylon to unprecedented levels. This filament is specially formulated for producing parts that demand resilience and can withstand stress, making it the perfect solution for applications such as bearings.
Fillamentum Nylon CF15 filament is composed of polyamide 12 reinforced with 15% milled carbon fibers. The addition of carbon fiber to the nylon base elevates the strength and impact resistance of CF15 prints to new heights. The carbon fiber reinforcement enhances overall toughness, ensuring that your printed pieces can thrive in demanding environments. One remarkable feature of Fillamentum Nylon CF15 Filament is its exceptional thermal and chemical resistance, coupled with its high processing stability and excellent rheological properties. Unlike some other filaments that become brittle when exposed to temperatures below 20°C, Nylon CF15 maintains superb impact resistance even in low-temperature conditions. This makes it a reliable choice for parts that need to endure harsh elements.
Moisture absorption is a common challenge faced by nylon filaments, often resulting in print defects. However, Fillamentum Nylon CF15 Filament exhibits significantly lower moisture absorption compared to standard nylon, effectively mitigating this issue and ensuring consistent, high-quality prints. In addition to its outstanding mechanical properties, Fillamentum Nylon CF15 Filament boasts a visually appealing carbon black finish. This not only makes it suitable for functional parts but also adds an elegant touch to architectural and design applications, elevating the aesthetic appeal of your prints.
Please Note: It's important to be aware that the carbon fiber in CF15 is abrasive and can cause wear on brass nozzles. We recommend having a spare nozzle dedicated specifically for this filament. Alternatively, you can opt to equip your 3D printer with a more durable nozzle such as a hardened steel nozzle, a plated brass nozzle, or an A2 tool steel nozzle. For the ultimate in durability, Vanadium nozzles are also an excellent choice. These options will effortlessly handle CF15 filament while also offering slightly improved printing characteristics for other filaments.

Starting in as early as 2013, but with roots that go even further than that, Fillamentum is a brand that actually began working in the automotive industry, before moving into the packaging industry, and then eventually arriving in (and specialising in) 3D printing, where they found their true passion. And as a company that has always placed a high priority on following innovation, they took to 3D printing like a fish to water, and since 2013, have been consistently introducing fresh new innovations to the industry in the form of new types of polymers, refinements to classic polymers, as well as hybrid polymers that blend in materials like wood for distinctively unique effects.
What we really love about Fillamentum and their awesome 3D filaments range, is that they offer true consistency even between hundreds or thousands of batches. In fact, they actually match many of their colours to specifically defined Pantones and RAL colours, which are universal colour standards that artists, designers and many other professionals commonly use for precision colour coordination. This of course is complemented by their consistent quality, with an impressive (and tested) 0.05mm tolerance throughout each spool, as well as consistent results from various colours across multiple batches during our own testing phases.
As a brand that clearly demonstrates its passion for 3D printing through it’s beautiful 3D filaments, we’ve been exceptionally impressed with Fillamentum, and we certainly won’t be too surprised if Fillamentum becomes your new favourite 3D filament for all occasions.
