When it comes to experimenting with fresh, new and exciting polymers, many of the true Exotic Filaments on the market are quite daunting, with specialised print settings and a price that doesn’t always allow for cheap trial and error to get working just right. This is why we love getting in what we like to call “Semi-Exotics” like Fillamentum Timberfill Filament, which offers distinctively unique characteristics, but features an easy-to-print base polymer to ensure that you don’t have to tweak settings for days just to get your first good print.
The Fillamentum Timberfill Range is a beautiful collection of PLA-based WoodFill Polymers, which are comprised of as much as 15% wood powder. These additives give Timberfill some very cool properties, and actually make it look, feel and even smell like real wood, opening up amazing opportunities for 3D Printing custom “wooden” enclosures, containers, sculptures, jewellery and so much more – without ever having to touch a carving knife. Of course, it must be noted that this filament, despite using a PLA base, does require one minor tweak to get right, and this is the change to a larger 0.5mm nozzle, so as to accommodate the extra additives and fibres that are contained within the filament. Fortunately though, with that being the “hardest part” of 3D Printing with Timberfill, you can rest assured that, regardless of your skill level in 3D Printing, you will definitely be able to take full advantage of the incredibly awesome wood-like properties of Fillamentum Timberfill.
Terracotta wood is amazingly coloured a light orange, as if made for festive modelling. This Terracotta Timberfill Filamentum produces prints with the same smooth aesthetic. The wooden texture gives a particularly elegant finish. Create impossibly “carved” Halloween decorations and pumpkin faces. While Timberfill may look quite lightweight from its aesthetics, it’s also quite strong, with the wood and PLA doing a good job to hold together and resist external forces relatively well.
Of course, with a core focus on ensuring precision consistency in ever spool produced, Fillamentum has rightfully garnered a position as one of the top suppliers of 3D Filaments throughout the world. From their vibrant range of Fillamentum PLA Extrafill to the exotic and extremely durable Fillamentum CPE CF112 Carbon, this amazing brand is not only passionate about quality, but is actually capable of delivering on this promise each and every time, without fail. This is why, regardless of what Fillamentum Polymers you’re choosing for your next project, you can expect excellent results with each and every one.
With unique aesthetics and a cool textures to complement, Fillamentum Timberfill Filaments are certainly some of the most exciting lines of 3D Filament that we have in stock, and we’ve been impressed by just how fun yet easy to print this beautiful filament has been.

Starting in as early as 2013, but with roots that go even further than that, Fillamentum is a brand that actually began working in the automotive industry, before moving into the packaging industry, and then eventually arriving in (and specialising in) 3D printing, where they found their true passion. And as a company that has always placed a high priority on following innovation, they took to 3D printing like a fish to water, and since 2013, have been consistently introducing fresh new innovations to the industry in the form of new types of polymers, refinements to classic polymers, as well as hybrid polymers that blend in materials like wood for distinctively unique effects.
What we really love about Fillamentum and their awesome 3D filaments range, is that they offer true consistency even between hundreds or thousands of batches. In fact, they actually match many of their colours to specifically defined Pantones and RAL colours, which are universal colour standards that artists, designers and many other professionals commonly use for precision colour coordination. This of course is complemented by their consistent quality, with an impressive (and tested) 0.05mm tolerance throughout each spool, as well as consistent results from various colours across multiple batches during our own testing phases.
As a brand that clearly demonstrates its passion for 3D printing through it’s beautiful 3D filaments, we’ve been exceptionally impressed with Fillamentum, and we certainly won’t be too surprised if Fillamentum becomes your new favourite 3D filament for all occasions.
