E3D V6 Volcano Heater Block – PT100 Compatible

The careful balance of hot and cold is crucial in the hotend of your 3D printer. Hotend assemblies are carefully constructed to ensure the 3D filament safely reaches the melt zone, which consists of the nozzle and the heater block attached to the heat break. These three crucial parts of the hotend assembly have a tendency to get very messy if something goes wrong. Enough build-up of clogging filament may even seriously damage these parts beyond anything rigorous cleaning could fix. If this happens, it is really handy to replace just these sections quickly and easily without worrying about buying an entirely new hotend.We stock this E3D Volcano Heater Block as a handy replacement for the E3D V6 Volcano hotend for both the 1.75mm version and the 3mm version. Unlike the original E3D Volcano Heater Block, this version sports a modified design that accommodates a cartridge style thermistor, such as the highly accurate PT100 500°C Thermistor. A heater block is basically a small machined aluminum block. It has a CNC drilled and tapped thread right the way through the top that accepts the V5 heat break or V6 heat break and E3D Volcano nozzle. It also has CNC drilled holes that accept the heater cartridge as well as PT100 500°C Thermistor. The heater cartridge is used to heat up the heater block to the desired temperature which intern heats up the hot end of the heat break and nozzle allowing smooth extrusion of the filament. The Thermistor is used to read and monitor the temperature of the heater block allowing for accurate closed loop PID temperature control.
