In hobbyist electronics, it’s often fun to incorporate camera modules into projects to add another layer of interfacing, so that projects can actually get a visual grasp of the surrounding environment and either act or react in various ways according to what they see. Additionally, cameras can be highly beneficial for simple monitoring or recording in applications like gate access systems, alarm systems or even for remote 3D printer viewing. This multifunctional style makes cameras quite valuable in the hobbyist realm. The NVIDIA Jetson Nano Camera IMX219-160 is an excellent example of just that, featuring a 8MP resolution and 160° lens.
The IMX219-160 Camera is designed for experimenting with AI projects. This 8MP camera has a wide lens with a 160° field of view. Play with face recognition and object detection. The Sony IMX219 image sensor offers 8MP resolution which is a better quality than many hobbyist camera modules, other than the IMX477 module we also stock. This is all complemented perfectly with support for both the NVIDIA Jetson Nano development platforms as well as the Raspberry Pi Compute Boards, with just a simple ribbon cable and some drivers required to get up and running to capture great quality images with ease.
