Hotend assemblies are magical devices that make 3D printing possible, but not the entire hotend is in fact hot. Temperature balance within your printer’s print head is so precisely divided to allow a constant stream of cold filament to melt at the right place and fast enough to avoid clogging. The cold side of your “hotend” is made up of the top section of the heat break and the cooling tower. Effective cooling towers keep filament from melting before it reaches the heat block.

This replacement Aluminium Cooling Block from Micro Swiss provides a special design to keep filament cool within an all-metal hotend assembly. Usually, your Bowden tubing will continue through the cooling tower and provide extra insulation against the heat. However, this aluminium Cooling Tower holds the Bowden tube into its top only and provides an internal filament path. This unconventional design results in a smooth flow of filament as it feeds through your hotend assembly and creates excellent quality prints.

Bear in mind that this Cooling Tower is a replacement part for the Micro Swiss All-Metal Hotend for CR-6 SE and CR-6 SE Max 3D printers. It is supplied from Micro Swiss themselves and includes mounting screws and a screw in cap to hold your Bowen tube.
