While we often take fans for granted due to their widespread popularity in all kinds of appliances, toys and other goodies, they are actually quite marvellous inventions, capable of taking electricity and converting it into mechanical rotation to blow air and provide active cooling for Electronics, entire machines and even humans. For 3D Printersa good quality fan is crucial for it to function because without it, problems like heat creep will certainly ruin our print qualitySince fans are so vital and they are typically designed to work non-stop causing them to wear down fasterit’s not surprising we recommend our amazing Maker customers keep a few spare replacement fans, like this BIQU 24V 3510 Axial Fan for the BIQU BX.

These BIQU 24V 3510 Axial Fans are stocked primarily for the BIQU BX 3D Printer, but can realistically be used wherever they are capable of fitting. Of course, the slightly unique size of 35x35mm does mean that it won’t be compatible with a lot of the more standard hotends that utilise 40x40mm fans, although in a pinch you could certainly get creative and adapt these to work for all kinds of cooling applicationsAxial Cooling Fans work by sucking air into one side and blowing air out the other. This design, along with the shape of its propellers, mean a relatively low pressure and optimal performance. These BIQU 24V 3510 Axial Fans are ready to deliver the active cooling your machine needs to keep on operating at its maximum potential – and without any horrible noises or vibrations that might end up causing problems in print quality later on.

So, whether you want to get a spare fan to swap out as a way to make your BIQU BX 3D Printer quieter, or if you’re just giving your favourite machine some well-deserved maintenance and TLC, you can rely on the fact that these are not only high-quality fans, but are actually supplied directly from BigTreeTech/BIQU, making them perfectly compatible and ready for action from the moment you plug them in.

HELPFUL NOTES FOR INSTALLING THE BIQU 24V 3510 BLOWER FAN:

Whilst many experienced Makers would consider the installation process of a cooling fan to be relatively simple, installing fans on hobbyist 3D Printers and other equipment is unfortunately not as simple as it should be. Fortunately though, we’ve prepared these handy notes on this process, which should help you get your fan installed without any unexpected damage or hassles.

  • Check Your Polarities – Although cooling fans can typically work both forwards and backwards without problem, it’s important to ensure that your fan is connected in the right way so that the cooling is working just like it should. As such, it’s a good idea to test your fan before committing to permanent connections, and this can be done by applying power and simply looking (or feeling) which way the fan is blowing. This will ensure that, if your fan is meant to blow air forward onto some electronics or into an enclosure, that it’s not actually sucking air in the opposite direction.

  • Wiring Colours May Not Always Match – Don’t simply rely on colours that many of these fans are provided with, because they may not always have the same wiring colours as other fans with the exact same or similar specifications. Additionally, we’ve found that some 3D Printers may also have different wiring, which can sometimes even depend on the batch within the same series. As such, double-check the polarity and markings on the related boards as well, so that you don’t end up running your fan backwards or causing unexpected damage before you even get a chance to use the fan.

BIQU 24V 3510 Axial Fan

BIQU 24V 3510 Axial Fan

As one of the rising stars in the world of 3D Printer Component Research and Development, BigTreeTech have certainly hit the ground running, entering the market in 2015 and spending their early stages primarily learning, researching, testing and developing, before producing some truly impressive results. From simple but effective upgrades to standard parts, all the way through to completely custom parts that no other brand offered at the time, BigTreeTech now have an incredibly diverse range, with almost no area of 3D Printing being left out.

Some of BigTreeTech’s most notable additions to the world of 3D Printing include the SKR Motherboard Range for numerous different 3D Printer models, the awesome TFT Touch Display Range with fancy features like dual-mode operation, as well as their very impressive Stepper Driver Range that cater to all tastes and preferences under the sun. And of course, to top it all off, BigTreeTech also have a sister company named BIQU, and we must admit that they have been producing some pretty impressive (and low price) 3D Printers, with the BIQU B1 possibly becoming a new rival to the Ender 3.

Of course, it’s easy to see that BigTreeTech are modern masters of 3D Printing R&D, and while we do still have a lot of different parts that we want to test out from them, so far we’ve been extremely happy with what they’re capable of producing – all while fitting into same kind of hobbyist budget that they used to operate on as Makers and Tinkerers themselves.
