The detail quality of resin 3D printing amazes us every time, but we were not prepared to witness the wonders of 8K resolution! SLA or DLP Printers are known in the industry for reaching levels of detail that cannot be reached with FDM 3D printers. The Creality Halot series of resin 3D printers offer higher levels of detail, faster print speeds, and larger build volume with each new model. This Creality Halot-Mage Pro offers high-speed resin printing while preforming 8K print magic.

The original Halot-Mage is a joy to run, presenting prints with higher definition than we’ve seen before, and not the second model for this range is here, the Halot-Mage Pro. The biggest stand-out feature of this awesome resin printer is its fantastic print speed. Boasting a 3-5 times faster print speed than other machines in the market, the Halot-Mage Pro clocks a 170mm/h print speed that still gets you the best results you asked for with an 8K resin printer. The 8K mono LCD print screen results in incredible print details. Each one is a sight to beholdresi. You will see the hair, fabric, skin textures, and other organic shapes come to life on your 3D models. Sitting with a larger 228x128x230mm build volume, the Halot-Mage Pro is reinforced with dual z-axis rails and builds upon the best features that came before.

What are the New Features of the Creality Halot-Mage Pro?

  • High-Speed Resin Printing – We remember the first time we used a resin printer with their notorious turtle motors. Now, the Halot-Mage Pro features high-speed motors at 100mm/s, that travels from home to the print vat so much faster during setup and levelling. That, coupled with the great precise design of the Halot-Mage light source, makes this printer a speedy masterpiece with 170mm/h print speed at incredible 8K resolution.
  • Precision Light Source with 8K Resolution – Creality’s new 120W power super spotlight and integral light system in the first Halot-One 3D Printer now shows it’s true potential with 8K high-resolution 3D printing. The Halot-Mage Pro contains a 10.3” monochrome LCD screen with 7680x4320 resolution. Pared with a powerful motherboard, this printer is ready to perform some magic.
  • Reinforced Z-axis Structure – The Halot-Mage Pro 3D Printer is a large format resin printer and is built to accommodate those big models you’re itching to print, while maintaining micron-level precision. Heavily reinforced with dual linear z-axis guide rails and a dual ball and screw configuration, the Creality Halot-Mage Pro will feel like a mini tank on your desk. It’s durability and stable machine body eliminates chance of backlash for impressive quality printing performance, even at high speeds.
  • Flip Protective Cover – Working with UV curable resin can feel like a messy process as you use gloves to protect your skin from the evasive chemicals and become conscious of the surfaces you touch. Something so simple as removing the loose cover from a resin printers can feel obstructive and demands extra tabletop space to place it down while you take a print off the bed. However, using a single finger, you can lift the Creality Halot-Mage Pro’s protective UV resistant cover with ease. Hinges hold the cover lid in place and out of your way, making post processing that bit easier and convenient.
  • Smart Resin Pump – A new feature for Creality, their smart resin pump presents a new way of loading and topping up your 3D resin at any time in the print process. Acting as an auto resin refill system, this pump can easily top up your vat if you see resin is running low, even while a print is in process. No need to risk exposing your print to unwanted UV light by opening the lid to pour in more resin. The pump also can drain out your resin from the vat and into your container which you must place the tube into. Minimalise splashes or messes by hand.
  • WiFi Connectivity – An interesting addition to the Halot-Mage series is the built-in WiFi. So, if you are tired of having to transfer files using a memory card, or you are away from your printer, then you can slice and send files to your Halot-Mage Pro remotely using HALOTBOX. The WiFi capabilities also allow the Halot-Mage Pro to perform Over-The-Air firmware updates at the touch of a button.
  • Air Purification System – A replaceable activated carbon filter absorbs those pesky smelly fumes while printing. The filtration system in the Halot-Mage Pro is 5.8 times lager than found in other Halot models. It is recommended to replace these carbon filters every 3 months for continuous clean air. The vent hole at the back allows you to connect a vent tube and send the smells right out the window.

With all this in mind, it made sense as to why Creality moved away from adding this to the LD series and rather started a fresh and exciting new resin Halot Series. If you are interested in resin 3D printing be sure to have a look at the UW-01 and UW-02 clean and cure stations to make post-processing much easier.

Our Verdict on the Creality Halot-Mage Pro 3D Printer:

It is clear Creality has broken away from the LD range with the release of the Halot series. The DIYElectronics team have been eager to really dive in and discover everything this new 3D printer range has to offer, and we are happy to say we are thoroughly impressed. In short, the Creality Halot-Mage and the new Halot-Mage Pro 3D Resin Printers combines precision with the convenient innovation of the whole Halot series.

This is the first high-speed resin printer we’ve seen and we immensely enjoyed the sturdy build volume at 228x128x230mm for some bigger projects. At the large scale and 170mm/h print speed, the Halot-Mage Pro seems designed for a professional and accommodates the workload with dual z-axis guide rails. The Halot-Mage Pro simplifies the resin printing process and tries a new trick with a smart resin pump. While we aren’t sure if this pump will prove a good idea in practice, it is a step into automation that leads to interesting ideas. We only suggest cleaning this pump’s pipes before changing resin to avoid mixing odd remanence of colours into your new resin bath. Its flip protective cover is a game-changer, making it easy to access your prints without dealing with an obstructive lid. But above all, the 8K resolution throws the ball out of the park. Tiny details that you never noticed before come to life on this printer. Lifelike textures that photos can barely do justice.

Creality Halot-Mage Pro CL-103 3D Printer – High-Speed Resin Printing

Creality Halot-Mage Pro CL-103 3D Printer – High-Speed Resin Printing

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.

The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.

If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
