Changing your nozzle is a bit time-consuming, especially when you want to get to the next print as fast as possible. Sometimes, a different nozzle size will make all the difference. Or if your nozzle needs a replacement, the fresh start does wonders for your print quality. Micro Swiss is a leading designer dedicated to refining and improving this aspect of 3D printer components, and they have actually garnered an impressive reputation for providing some of the highest quality 3D printer nozzles in the world. This quick-swap 0.8mm Micro Swiss Long Nozzle is designed to fit their specialised Micro Swiss FlowTech hotends.

The 0.8mm Micro Swiss FlowTech Nozzle has a unique design with an integrated heatbreak that gives this nozzle its high-flow and quick-change features. These nozzles are fit for any version of the Micro Swiss FlowTech hotend, including for the K1/K1 Max, CR-10 SE, and Ender 3 V3 KE 3D printers. The FlowTech boasts a fast nozzle replacement process, as well as high filament flow and ensures no nozzle leaks. These amazing benefits are thanks to the Micro Swiss FlowTech Nozzle and its integrated heatbreak at the top, making sure that your filament has no chance to leak out. You can switch your nozzle while the hotend stays cold and with only one hand.

Despite using simple brass as a base material, the 0.8mm Micro Swiss FlowTech Nozzle is plated for extra durability even when printing some of the toughest materials and exotic filaments like carbon fiber. This greatly extends the lifespan of the nozzle, and also helps to reduce failed prints and wasted time and money, while also saving money on the plethora of brass nozzles that would typically be required to match the lifespan that these plated nozzles offer.

Note: This is a Micro Swiss Original Plated Brass Nozzle, supplied directly by the industry leaders in nozzle R&D and Production. This ensures premium quality and lasting durability, even when dealing with high-corrosion filaments like Carbon Fiber and MetalFill.

Typical Applications for The 0.8mm Micro Swiss FlowTech Nozzle:

Although brass nozzles are typically adequate for most 3D printing applications with standard filaments like ABS and PLA, some of the more exotic and unique 3D filaments can be very abrasive due to the added materials like metal, carbon fiber or wood. For such abrasive filaments, a brass nozzle would typically wear down really quickly, leading to possible clogs and jams, as well as over-extrusion – with all of these factors negatively affecting the finished print quality. Fortunately, all you need to effectively print these kinds of filaments is a reliable high-durability nozzle like this one, making it a surprisingly affordable upgrade.

The 0.8mm size is quite large compared to the hobbyist standard of 0.4mm, and is made to print at higher speeds while sacrificing slightly on print accuracy and fine details. This is great for if you are mass-producing low-detail prototypes or models with reasonably light detail-work. However, because of the larger output diameter, these can be printed fast. And while this nozzle still doesn’t quite compare to the intense speeds that a full 2mm nozzle can, it is quite a lot faster than the 0.5mm Micro Swiss Nozzle, which of course prints at a faster rate than the smaller 0.4mm and 0.2mm nozzles as well. However, if you’re looking for similar nozzles, only slightly larger or smaller, be sure to look through out entire Range of Nozzles, which are available in sizes from as small as 0.2mm all the way up to extra-large 2mm output nozzles.

Within 3D Printing, there are a few brands whose hard work has made them stand out from the rest, with real innovation and the ability to not only refine old designs, but actually redesign from the ground up to offer more comprehensive upgrades for 3D printing enthusiasts and Makers throughout the world.

Micro Swiss is one such brand that perfectly fits this description, and since their founding back in 2015, the Micro Swiss brand has garnered world-wide attention for the quality, material composition and precision of their hotends, nozzles and other all-metal components. With a core focus on TwinClad XT Plated Brass Nozzles and All-Metal Hotend Upgrades for some of the most popular 3D Printers on the market, it’s no surprise that one of the easiest and most effective upgrades available to Makers are Micro Swiss Replacement Parts and Upgrade Kits.

In addition to the amazing 3D Printing components and upgrades that they produce, Micro Swiss also specialise in Swiss Turning, which is capable of precision CNC machining outer diameters as small as 0.0127mm, as well as CNC milling, tapping and post machining finishing for prototyping. These service offerings and correlating skillsets ensure that the Micro Swiss team is more than just capable of producing consistently high-quality parts, but also capable of identifying precisely where each part could use improvements.

As manufacturers and end-users of everything they produce, Micro Swiss is one of the most impressive brands we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with, and we look forward to all of the exciting refinements and developments that they are bound to bring out in the future.
