This 4x8 RGB LED HAT for Raspberry Pi is a fun little expansion board with 32 True Colour RGB LEDs laid out in a 4x8 grid format. It has breakout control pins for easy operations with other MCU’s and supports all revisions of Raspberry Pi Boards.
The LED’s have a 24-bit True Colour depth that can make up a total of over 16 million different colours and shades, running at a data rate of 800Kbps, with a tiny form factor of 65 x 30.2mm. Similar to other Raspberry Pi HATs, this unit plugs directly onto the top of a Raspberry Pi, with 3mm mounting holes on each corner to secure it in place. It operates on 5V and, in conjunction with one or two apps, can be controlled entirely via smart phone.

The 4x8 WS2812B RGB LED HAT for Raspberry Pi is a great choice if you want to add some colour to a Raspberry Pi project, but can also be used as a basic display using dot matrix programming. The True Colour capabilities also enable it to emulate almost any colour imaginable, with over 16 million colours and 256 adjustable brightness levels to play around with to accommodate almost any RGB LED needs.
