If you love to work with Electronics, but have always found audio to be the trickiest part, then you will be delighted with the introduction of the WM8960 Audio HAT for Raspberry Pi, which is a fantastic little expansion module for Raspberry Pi Boards that conveniently adds stereo audio playback and recording in one of the easiest ways known to Makers. And of course, just to make your life as a Maker as easy as possible, these Pi HATs also include a set of 8Ω 5W speakers with a JST-PH2.0 connector so that you don’t even need to find your own to use with this module.
The WM8960 Audio HAT features all of the important parts to deliver great quality low power stereo audio for your projects, and can be integrated within minutes by simply plugging the module into the top of a Raspberry Pi before installing the necessary drivers and testing to see if it works. This is arguably one of the easiest ways to add quality Audio to a Pi project, even offering the option to connect the left and right speakers up separately, or via a single 4-pin JST-PH2.0 connector – which is the same connector that the included 8Ω 5W speakers use.
