The PT1000 RTD Thermistor is one of these crucial pieces that make it possible to crank up your printing temperature to 500°C.

This PT1000 RTD Thermistor from Slice Engineering is designed as a convenient spare part for almost any hotend or electronics that caters for the PT1000. Unlike the PT100 thermistor, this PT1000 RTD does not require a MAX31865 amplifier which makes it easier to install into your devices. The PT1000 RTD Thermistor uses a platinum resistor which offers an impressive detection range of -50°C to 500°C. When installed into the heater block, the thermistor helps accurately detect the printing temperature for you to perform delicate changes and print at the exact temperatures you need for your unique 3D filaments.

Supplied with 2m long lead wires, the PT1000 RTD Thermistor is a drop-in replacement for almost any compatible 3D printer. The Octupus Pro Controller Board, for example, caters for the PT1000 sensor for it’s high quality temperature detection that propels your 3D printing to the next level.

Please Note: This PT1000 RTD Thermistor does not require the MAX31865 amplifier to function. However, if your 3D printer is designed for the PT100 and MAX31865, then we suggest you pick up a PT100 RTD thermistor we stock to avoid needing to update your firmware to accommodate the PT1000 instead.

Typical Applications for the PT1000 RTD Thermistor:

These PT100 and PT1000 RTD Thermistors are primarily stocked as replacements for high temperature hotends such as the Biqu H2 500°C Direct Drive, but their utility allows Makers to use these thermistors for interesting applications. The Octopus Pro Controller Board provides built-in support for the PT1000 for its superior temperature resistance and detection. If you are keen to experiment with the PT100 within other temperature sensitive DIY projects, please note a MAX31865 amplifier is required in most applications, whereas the PT1000 does not require an additional amplifier.
