Pressure sensors are extremely useful tools in projects that require the measurement of air and gases that we can’t see. But sometimes you don’t need to know the absolute pressure of a gas. Instead, the difference between two points in a system is crucial information for creating functional measuring tools. This Differential Pressure Sensor is a high-definition breakout board for your Arduino device by using I2C communication to measure pressure across two points.

This Differential Pressure Sensor is supplied by DFRobot and designed as a breakout board for hobbyists to use with microcontrollers like your Arduino. Using I2C communication, the Differential Pressure Sensor receives input data through two separate nozzles and processes it with its high-performance MEMS pressure chip and special conditioning chip. The resulting sensor output is compiled using a multi-stage temperature-compression algorithm, which reduces any environmental effects on the results. A silicone tube is also included with this Differential Pressure Sensor for you to fit onto one nozzle and feed to an area that you wish to measure air or gas pressure. The nozzle left to the open will measure the ambient pressure around it, giving you a control from which to measure the differential. This is a popular method for monitoring filters or gas flow. The DFRobot Differential Pressure Sensor is a clever tool you can use in your homemade measuring systems.

Please Note: This Differential Pressure Sensor is designed for measuring air or gas pressure. Please do not allow any water to enter the nozzle of the sensor which will damage your sensor module.

As self-proclaimed “Robo-holics”, DFRobot is a company comprised of over 100 staff members, of which 30% are engineers who love to build robots. It was started in 2008 with the goal of embracing and promoting open-source hardware, with a core focus on Arduino, Raspberry Pi and their very own LattePanda development boards. Since then, DFRobot have manufactured over 1300 unique modules, sensors and components that all work together and complement each other, allowing users like us to enjoy a full spectrum of cutting edge robotics and electronics without having to pay premium prices.

With the primary goal of developing and manufacturing great quality products, while making them accessible to as many people as possible, DFRobot are rapidly becoming one of the most common-place brands in the world of open-source robotics and electronics. With more than 1300 products developed in-house, and an impressive range of different categories and specialisations, there are few brands in the world who can compete in terms of quality, accessibility and genuine innovation.
