This RAMPS SD/LCD Control Panel is essentially a lightweight version of the Full Graphical Control Panel, and gives your 3D printer independence from computers or laptops – allowing you to calibrate, move axes and print directly from a Standard SD Card via the user interface. The screen is blue-tinted and the backlight can be turned on and off, while the brightness can be also adjusted if necessary.
The panel offers a 20 character by 4 line LCD display 1204, with a simple rotary encoder to control all of the operations. A quick STOP button is also located in the bottom right, in case of emergency or if you realize a mistake after printing has begun. Installation is nice and easy, and simply entails plugging the included smart adaptor into your RAMPS 1.4 Arduino Shield.
All of these features add up to a great product that adds true convenience to 3D Printing while offering the benefit of portability – allowing you to take your printer out into the world for projects requiring on-site printing.
