In the modern age of touchscreen smartphones, these tactile buttons and spinning knobs can feel outdated. Yet we find it always charming and so satisfying to include encoder knobs in our Maker projects. Touchscreens may be cool, but they’ll never kill retro. This Rotary Encoder is designed as a breakout board with an EC11 360 degree knob for you to easily add volume or level control to your Arduino project.

A simple elegant black knob sits on top of the Fermion EC11 Rotary Encoder Module, which you can install into your multimedia speakers or smart home prototypes. The rotary knob spins a full 360 degrees with no stop point. Using the three signal terminals of this module, you can assign terminal A and B to encoder output and terminal C to a button signal output. Your microcontroller, like the fantastic Arduino Uno, interprets these signals as you desire. The Fermion EC11 Rotary Encoder Module is a smart and useful addition to your automotive electronics multimedia speakers or other fun retro instruments.
