Temperature and humidity are always two factors you need to consider when working with delicate electronics or living plant life. Often the slightest change in environmental conditions can upset the balance of your herb garden or creep brittleness into your 3D filament rolls. Resourceful Makers enjoy using sensor modules for projects like weather stations, automatic bakeries or liquid processing plants that utilise environmental monitoring to its fullest. A wide range of breakout boards, like this SHT30 Sensor Module, is available to Makers for keeping track of precise temperature and humidity levels and carefully controlling the environments in which your projects are located.

These SHT30 Temperature and Humidity Sensor Modules are designed with the Sensirion SHT30 sensor which skyrockets its humidity accuracy to within 2%RH and offers I2C support for many hobby controllers. Operating at 2.15V to 5.5V, the SHT30 Sensor Module is ideal for 3.3V/5V controllers such as your Arduino, micro:bit, or ESP32 board. You can equip this module using I2C communication and enjoy fast response time between your electronic components. A strong anti-interference ability helps the stability of your signals and allows your project to make quick adjustments in response to its environmental sensors.

The SHT30 Temperature and Humidity Sensor Module is part of the SHT3x range from DFRobot, fill of ideal sensors for Maker projects. This sensor module detects temperatures from -40°C–125°C and humidity from 0%–90%RH. This detection range and its internal auto-calibration are what make the SHT30 Sensor Module a great choice for many applications including smart home devices, grain storage, plant and animal systems, and urban environmental monitoring. Of course, we’re quite fortunate as Makers that we can get the exact Sensors, modules and components we need to cater to each of our unique projects.

SHT30 Temperature and Humidity Sensor Module

As self-proclaimed “Robo-holics”, DFRobot is a company comprised of over 100 staff members, of which 30% are engineers who love to build robots. It was started in 2008 with the goal of embracing and promoting open-source hardware, with a core focus on Arduino, Raspberry Pi and their very own LattePanda development boards. Since then, DFRobot have manufactured over 1300 unique modules, sensors and components that all work together and complement each other, allowing users like us to enjoy a full spectrum of cutting edge robotics and electronics without having to pay premium prices.

With the primary goal of developing and manufacturing great quality products, while making them accessible to as many people as possible, DFRobot are rapidly becoming one of the most common-place brands in the world of open-source robotics and electronics. With more than 1300 products developed in-house, and an impressive range of different categories and specialisations, there are few brands in the world who can compete in terms of quality, accessibility and genuine innovation.
