Creality Dual-Drive Extruder Body – CR-10 / Ender 3

As a 3D Printing enthusiast, there are so many different potential upgrades on the market that it’s often difficult to identify which are actually beneficial, and which might just be a waste of time and effort. However, there are a few upgrades that have been a highly sought-after by online 3D Making communities for a while now, one of which is the Bondtech- Dual-Drive extruder, which utilises double Drive Gears to offer perfect extrusion and retraction accuracy by gripping the 3D Filament from both sides while feeding it to the hotend.

Typical Applications for the Creality Dual-Drive Extruder Body:

While the simple addition of a secondary drive gear greatly improves the quality of 3D printing, this type of extruder system offers its true benefits with tricky Flexible Filaments and other exotics that are typically difficult to control. And whereas flexibles can typically bounce and skip when only being driven from one side, the double-grip ensures that the printer can reliably extrude and retract the perfect lengths, resulting in far more control over the filament and overall better printing results.

As a final note, we are still in the process of testing the Creality Dual-Drive Extruder Body on other 3D Printers like the original CR-10 series, and we will be reporting back here as soon as we know the potential compatibility of this product. So consider checking back from time to time as we test and update this unit’s compatibilities, as the benefits of this extruder body could certainly add value to many of the other models that we stock.

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.
