If you’ve ever tried to build your own power bank or battery management module, then you will understand just how complex and cumbersome building safeguarded boost and charge circuits can be. However, whether you were successful or not, you will certainly be able to appreciate this MP2636 Power Booster & Charger Module, which uses the common MP2636 module and predesigned circuitry to turn standard 3.7V LiPo or Li-Ion Batteries into your own custom power bank.

The module offers three connections, one of which is to connect the battery to the module, while the other two are for either charging or boosting power to or from the battery. The Standard USB port feeds 5V power out for powering or Charging smart devices and other USB-based gadgets, while the Micro USB port accepts 5V input in order to charge the battery that is connected to the module. This is essentially the same as how a power bank works, although you also have the option of carrying spare batteries in order to keep your devices charged for as long as you need them to be. And to top off the feature list, this module offers a maximum boost and charge current of 2.5A, which is surprisingly strong for such an affordable and versatile module.
