If you often work with chemicals and dilutions in industrial environments, or simply like to stay very health-conscious with your drinking water, then you can understand the importance of acquiring the ideal pH value for whatever liquids you’re dealing with. However, pH levels can be somewhat confusing at times, and more often than not the most convenient solution to measuring pH is with old-school Litmus-style colour-change tests that can become expensive over time while offering a somewhat subjective (and often imperfect) reading depending on who is looking at it.

This is where the value of Electronics in this pH sensor pro kit comes in, as it is still very affordable despite being industrial grade, but can work continuously for up to a year before you even need to consider replacing it. And while there are a few steps that you need to take from time to time in order to maintain optimal measuring accuracy (As seen on the official DFRobot Product Page) it is certainly one of the easiest and most cost-effective tools for almost any pH-related projects – from hobbyist to industrial – up to a temperature of around 60°C.

What makes this particular pH meter so great is that it’s actually an Industrial Grade Analog pH Sensor, but has been designed by DFRobot to be compatible with Arduino, allowing Makers like you and me to enjoy a reliable pH sensor that is both accessible and relatively easy to use in conjunction with simple Arduino Boards. Just remember, however, that this module needs 5V supply, so it’s preferable to use a 5V Arduino Board to operate it, so as to avoid voltage mix-ups and potential overloads.

Please Note: This pH meter is best used with a constant and precise 5V input from a switching power supply. Any small fluctuations can lead to incorrect readings and potentially cause the meter to lose calibration settings.
