Water literally flows around us everyday through the brilliant invention of pipework, carrying it into our homes. But since humans don’t have x-ray vision, losing track of all that water usage can be hard on the wallet. For such an important resource, many Makers enjoy monitoring the flow rate of various liquid sources from kitchen taps to coffee machines. This simple Gravity Water Flow Sensor is an easy sensor module designed to fit into your G1/2 pipe system to measure the exact amount of flowing liquid passing through.
Covered with a plastic valve body, the Gravity Water Flow Sensor contains a flow rotor and hall effect sensor that is compatible with Arduino microcontrollers. Usually twisted onto the end of an inlet, the water sensor uses a magnetic rotor that rotates with the flow of water, which is calculated by the rate of rotation. The hall effect sensor outputs the pulse width signal which you can connect to your Arduino microcontroller to monitor the exact flow rate. With these brains behind the sensors, you can create a smart measuring system that sends data right to your phone or notifies you when the tank is low. Many smart home IoT applications are possible with this easy-to-install Gravity Water Flow Sensor.
Please Note: This Gravity Water Flow Sensor uses G1/2” fittings for easy installation into your pipe system. If this is too small, check out our G1/4” Gravity Liquid Flow Sensor or G3/4” Gravity Liquid Flow Sensor in stock.
